Invalid Guide Numbers

An Invalid Guide Number is an item that the Audatex system does not recognise as being fitted to the vehicle being assessed. This may be because the item is only for certain build dates or that there is an option code that needs to be selected for the item in order for it to be taken into account during the calculation.

The invalid guide number will be in three parts, as shown below:

What to do if the invalid guide number begins E (E xxx F).

This means that the renewal of the item has failed. You should look on the summary in Graphics to establish which part the guide number refers to. Once you have done this, you should check the Options List to see if there is a relevant option, for example, if the invalid guide number refers to front fog lamps then this option should be selected and the assessment recalculated.

If the invalid guide number does not have an associated Option, then the model selection should be verified. Has the correct sub model been selected (for example, has a saloon been selected instead of an estate)? Has the correct build date been selected? Is the body style the correct one?

If after checking the above, the invalid guide number is still apparent, please check ourVehicle Specific FAQs to see if this is a known issue. If there is no FAQ for the issue then please contact the Audatex Helpdesk for assistance.

What to do if the invalid guide number begins N (N xxx F).

This means that the remove and refit of the item has failed. You should look on the summary in Graphics to establish which part the guide number refers to. Once you have done this, you should read through the labour text on the assessment to check whether or not the relevant labour time/text is generated.

If the correct labour time is included in the assessment, you should either ignore the invalid guide number (but you will need to contact the Helpdesk for a call number) or delete the remove and refit of the part (as it is already included in another repair operation) before recalculating.

If the labour time is not included in the assessment, you will need to contact the Helpdesk for advice.

What to do if the invalid guide number begins I (I xxx F).

You are trying to repair a part that the manufacturer says cannot be repaired. Delete the repair and mark the part for renew.
